ENERGY COMMUNITY TALKS – EUROPEAN EXPERIENCES AND INITIATIVES IN SERBIA
The event is organized with the support of German Development Cooperation, in partnership with the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, the Serbian Energy Law Association (UPES), and the Energy Cooperative Elektropionir.
During the event, you will have the opportunity to:
• Gain an understanding of what energy communities are, and learn about the legal and technical framework for their establishment and operation in Europe, with a special focus on both successful and less successful practices from various European countries.
• Learn about the existing legal and technical framework for energy communities in the Republic of Serbia—what it currently enables and what further steps are needed to unlock the full potential of energy communities in Serbia.
• Get acquainted with examples of initiatives to establish energy communities in Serbia, their plans, and the challenges they face.
A dedicated part of the program will be focused on questions and open discussion, aimed at deepening understanding and sharing knowledge and experiences within the panels on integrating energy communities into the Serbian energy market and implementing energy community initiatives in
practice—with all their challenges, possible solutions, and proposals for improvement.
The goal of these discussions is to identify pathways for the development and implementation of the energy community concept in the Republic of Serbia, as an important aspect of democratizing and decentralizing the electricity market, integrating renewable energy sources, and decarbonizing the energy system.
