REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON GREEN TRANSFORMATION IN THE WESTERN BALKANS

Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans (OSF-WB) and the GAP Institute organize the Regional Conference on Green Transformation in the Western Balkans, to be held on 3 November 2025 in Tirana, Albania.
This regional event will bring together policymakers, industry representatives, academics, civil society leaders, and international experts to discuss how Green Industrial Policy (GIP) can drive competitiveness, decarbonization, and inclusion across the Western Balkans. It will also serve as a platform for regional dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration on practical approaches to sustainable industrial transformation.
The discussions will be structured around the following panels:
- Introducing the Green Industrial Policy Framework: Why it matters and how it can guide regional transformation.
- Reclaiming Critical Raw Materials from Industrial Waste: Turning legacy pollution into strategic assets for a greener future.
- Accelerated Zones and One-Stop Shops for Green Deployment: Unlocking renewable energy through spatial planning and regulatory reform.
- Empowering Women in the Green Transition: Ensuring women’s leadership and equal participation in green industries.
